The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Office of Executive Investigations yesterday secured an arrest warrant for Tammy Hamlet, 45, of Tallahassee, for eight counts of fraudulent claims involving per diem and travel expenses of public officers, employees and authorized persons. Hamlet is currently employed as the director of university events at Florida A&M University.

Pursuant to an on-going criminal investigation, FDLE investigators reviewed and analyzed a variety of travel related charges made by FAMU employees utilizing the university credit cards between July 2010 and June 2011. During this review, investigators identified numerous discrepancies regarding the reimbursements requested by Hamlet on her travel voucher submissions.

The discrepancies involved alleged misrepresentation involving departure and return times on university travels as well as mileage reimbursements.

Investigators are alleging that Hamlet submitted eight fraudulent travel vouchers containing false information which resulted in a total loss of $1,821.41.
